FACILITIES
FUNCTION ROOMS
There are two main function rooms, one slightly larger than the other, which are separated by folding doors. These can be used as two separate areas, or the folding doors can be opened to make one large space which can accommodate 168 guests standing or 76 guests seated.
EQUIPMENT • There are tables, chairs, crockery and cutlery to support up to 76 guests. • The tables & chairs can be found in the storage cupboard located at the back of the larger front hall. • The large rectangle tables can accommodate up to 8 guests, and the smaller square tables can accommodate up to 4 guests.
KITCHEN There is a well-equipped kitchen which has: a cooker; hot cupboard; two fridges; microwave; hot water urn; hostess trolley.
UTILITIES • Electricity, Lighting & Heating Please note that electricity, lighting and heating is provided via “pay as you go” meters that use £1 and £2 coins. The meters are located in a cupboard on the right hand wall of the small corridor between the main foyer and the small annexe. Instructions on how to use the meters is shown below. Please note that we would recommend that you use £2 coins as we have been experiencing issues with the meter accepting £1 coins recently. The amount of coins required will depend on the remaining credit on the meter(s) and the faciltiies/appliances being used during your event. Meter Cupboard • The left hand unit within the meter cupboard is for Lighting and Power only. • The right hand unit within the meter cupboard is for Heating only. • In the top right of each unit there is a coin slot for £1 or £2 coins. Please wait until the coin drops completely before inserting the next coin. • In the bottom left of each unit there is a display panel showing the amount of credit remaining. • Internet Access. Wi-Fi is available in the village hall and is free of charge. Username & password details can be found in the Welcome folder located in the kitchen. • Mobile. Please note that we have limited mobile network coverage in Chitterne. However, there is a Public Phone Box situated outside the Hall and a list of emergency contact numbers can be found in the Welcome Folder.
DISABLED FACILITIES Disabled facilities include a ramp to the entrance and a disabled toilet inside the Hall
CAR PARKING There is a car park to the front of the building for the use of the Hirer and their guests. As an overflow option, visitors can park along the road eg by the wall located past the church, and alongside the village green (please do not block access to the houses). Additional car parking can be made available on the Chitterne Sports Field located opposite the village hall. Please note that this facility is a chargeable option. REAR PATIO There is a patio area to the rear of the building for the use of the Hirer and their guests should you require additional space. This area can easily accommodate a marquee which is usually set-up for your use during the summer months i.e from June to September. If you require a marquee outside of the summer period, please contact the booking secretary.
CLEANING
We also offer Hirer’s the option of a cleaning service, but please note that this is a chargeable option. If you would like to find out more about this option, please speak to the Chitterne Village Hall Booking Secretary.
